Markandeya respecting the advice of the sages, commence the chanting of the Mantra. In due course, Yamraj, the lord of death appeared before hymn. But who can harm the person who is under the protection of Mrityunjaya. Yamraj left Markandeya. Markandeya attained a long life and composed the Markandeya Puran. By the traditionally correct and continuous chanting of this hymn, A person can be abbsolved of his sins.
