Shiv Mahapuran Episode 7 I Samudra Manthan ~The Churning of Sea The Devas and the Daityas (Gods and Demons) start churning out the sea. First of all the killer poison called "Halahal Vish" comes out the Lord Shiva consumes it in order to save the universe. His divine body absorbs the poison but his neck turns blue. Thus he is called "Neelkanth". With the progress of the sea-churning, many ratnas come out. The most important among them are Goddess Lakshmi who is accepted by Lord Vishnu as his wife. The Lord of Health (Dhanvantari) comes out with a pot of Amrit (the Nectar). Rahu snatches the Amritkumbha (pot of Nectar) from Dhanwantari and runs away.
