Varuna is pleased and gives an eternal spring of water. The prayer of Rishi Gautam-Ahilya makes all happy in the famine hit area. But many Rishis become jealous of Gautam's Success and by a conspiracy make both of them a victims of co-murder. To be free from the wrong accusation, both of them perform a penance to please Lord Shiva. After a great wait Lord Shiva is pleased and on request of Gautam-Ahilya he calls Ganga there. Ganga gives her water to the spring and a river starts flowing, by the name 'Gautami Godavari' the Ganges of South. Lord Shiva establishes ''Tryambakeshwar'' Jyotirling' near Nasik.
