They also refuse the offer to marry Jagbhooti's two daughters Vibhooti and Prabhooti, who in turn want to follow the path of Nara and Narayan to whom they have dedicated their hearts. Nara and Narayan go to the high peaks of Himalayas to pray to Lord Shiva, followed by Vibhooti and Prabhooti. At the Kedar peaks of the Himalayas, they meditate with the desire to see Lord Shiva before them. Their meditation creates a fear in Lord Indra's mind. He sends the heavenly court dancers Menaka and Rambha to disturb the two from their meditations but they remain unsuccessful. Ultimately Lord Shiva appears before them in person and establishes himself as Kedarnath Jyotirling. Thereafter Devarshi Narad Muni goes to Kailash and on his prayer; Lord Shiva appears as "Ardhanareshwara" a combined form of Lord Shiva and Shakti.
