He starts behaving like a mad person. Lifts Sati's dead body and starts roaming in the universe. Shouting and talking with Sati, as if she is alive. Looking at his condition, Brahma suggests Vishnu to cut Sati's dead body into pieces and remove the body away from Shiva so that he comes to senses again. Vishnu sends his Sudarshan Chakra and it cut Sati's dead body in Fifty one pieces which fall on Earth and at the sacred places where they fell, Fifty one "Shakti peeth" are established which are still there. Devout Sati Bhaktas get power from these places. Shiva becomes normal after this and on request of Brahma, he goes to Dakshayagya, enlivens Daksha after putting a goat's head on his body and let him complete the Yagya which was left unfinished.
