In his struggle with Rahu, some drops of Amrit fall on Earth and thus some of these places are most sacred. The four sacred places or "Teerthas" where the Amrit drops fell , are- Haridwar, Prayag, Ujjain and Nasik. From that moment of time, these four sacred places have become the spots of "Kumbha Mela"or the religious assemblage of people which takes place once in twelve years. The struggle for Amritkumbha sill continues. Devarshi Narad is sorry to know that both the Devas and Daityas are the sons of Kashyap Rishi born from two different mothers named Diti and Aditi. In order to help the Devas, Lord Vishnu takes the form of Mohini, a beautiful woman, who manages to take the Amrit from Rahu and distributes it among the Devas. But Rahu for all his shrewdness consumes the Amrit, even when his head is cut by the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu.
