Pained Sati prays Shiva to let her go to Daksha to question him for his injustice. Shiva forbids her from going there but Sati insists Shiva to send her alongwith Nandi. At the Dakshayagya, Sati is badly insulted by her father Daksha Prajapati who uses bad language regarding Lord Shiva in insulting tone. Sati cannot bear her husband's insult and decides to sacrifice herself then and there with the self assuming Yagya flames. As soon as Sati falls dead, Shiva's disciples destroy the Yagya and in turn are beaten & killed by Vibhus of Daksha. Wounded Shivaganas report this to Lord Shiva at Kailash, out of Shiva anger, Veerbhadra a powerful demon like creature appears. Shiva orders him to destroy Daksha & his Yagya. Veerbhadra goes to Daksha & severs his hand from his body and throws it in Yagya to burn out.
