Lord Vishnu advises them to pray to Mother Shakti, so that the son Shiv can be born. All the Gods in heaven pray to Mother Shakti to appear. Mother Shakti answers their prayers and assures them that she will take birth in the form of a woman on the order of Lord Shiva. Devarshi Narad gives this news to Nandi and his companions who become happy on hearing this. Tarakasur spreads his tyranny on earth. The tortured Rishi Munis run to King Himalayara for help. King Himalayara himself prepares to fight the Demon Tarakasur. But Himalayara's daughter Ganga intervenes and stops him. She herself goes to fight the demon Tarakasur. With her divine force, Ganga compels the Demon Tarakasur to run away from the Himalayas. Vishnu suggests to the Gods that Mother Shakti will take birth as younger sister of Ganga.
